Smokey Bear’s 75th Birthday

The Hudson-Meng Education and Research Center (HMERC) will host a birthday celebration on Friday, August 9 AND Saturday, August 10 at their facility from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.

On both days:

• We will have birthday cake at 1:00 pm. Get ready to sing happy birthday to Smokey Bear!
• Pine Ridge Ranger District Fire Crew will provide wildfire safety and prevention activities and demonstrations.
• Smokey Bear will stop by from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm for cake.
• HMERC partnered with Black Hills Parks and Forest Association to give out prizes for anyone who completes Agents of Discovery mobile game app on August 9 or 10.
